Distribution of pathogens and analysis of antimicrobial agents applied in patients with urinary tract infection |

Abstract ObjectiveTo analyze the usage of antibacterial agents based on the characteristics of pathogenic bacteria and drug resistance in inpatients with urinary tract infection (UTI),in order to promote its rational use.MethodsBy a retrospective analysis,bacterial culture from midstream urine was carried out in inpatients with UTI from March 2014 to February 2015 in some hospital.Based on the results of bacterial culture and drug sensitive test,the preferred antibacterial drugs from empirical usage were analyzed.ResultsAmong 125 isolated strains of pathogenic bacteria,the percentage of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria,and fungi was 91.20%,8.00%,and 0.80%.Escherichia coli,Proteus mirabilis,and Klebsiella pneumonia were commonly seen in the Gram-negative bacteria.In the Gram-positive bacteria, Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium took the majority.Gram-negative bacteria were basically resistant to antibacterial drugs like β-lactam and quinolone,and even Proteus mirabilis was resistant to imipenem.To most of antibacterial agents,Gram-positive bacteria were resistant,especially Enterococcus faecium was resistant to all antibacterial agents after drug sensitive test.ConclusionApplication of preferred antibacterial drugs based on clinical experience in UTI inpatients is not rational.The antimicrobial agents which are listed in drug sensitive card and used in the susceptibility test have to be replaced for widespread resistance due to a long time usage.
