Clinical significance of the detection in immunoglobulin in CSF and oligoclone IgG band children w ith viral encephalitis |

Abstract Objective To study the clinical application value of cerebrospinal fluid immunoglobulin and oligoclonal zone detection in the diagnosis of infantile encephalitis viral infection.M ethods Forty children from June 2014 to June 2015 in Fuzhou Children′s Hospital of Fujian Province were selected as the study objects,and they were divided into the viral encephalitis group(25 cases)and non-encephalitis group(15 cases).The expression of albumin(Alb),immunoglobulin (IgG,IgA,IgM)in cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)of the two groupswere detected and compared;the immune globulin(Ig)in the oligoclonal zone(OCB)was detected by enzyme immune fixed electrophoresi,and the the expression of Ig in the OCB of the two groupswere compared.Results The Alb,IgG,IgA and IgM in CSF of the encephalitis group were(0.18±0.08)g/L, (35.55±18.65)mg/L,(2.46±1.64)mg/L,(0.98±0.32)mg/L respectively,and the non-encephalitis group were(0.16±0.08)g/L, (10.45±2.62)mg/L,(0.54±0.38)mg/L,(0.59±0.15)mg/L respectively;and the levels of IgG and IgA in the two groups had statistically significant difference(P<0.05),however,the levels of Alb and IgM in the two groups had no statistically significant differences(P>0.05).There were 3 cases of the encephalitis group with positive expression of Ig in the OCB,the positive rate was 12%,and the non-encephalitis group was 0%,the positive rate in the two groups had no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion Increased content of immunoglobulin IgG and IgA in CSF can be a biomarkers for diagnosis of children with viral encephalitis,which worthy of clinical application.Oligoclonal zone detection has a certain value for diagnosis of infantile viral encephalitis,needmore samples to further research.
