Clinical effect of hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of delayed encephalopathy after carbon monoxide poisoning |

Abstract Objective To investigate the clinical effect of hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of delayed encephalopathy after carbon monoxide poisoning(DEACMP).Methods A total of 68 DEACMP patients who were treated in Affiliated Hospital of Chifeng University from June 2018 to June 2020 were selected as the research objects.The patients were divided into the control group and the experimental group using the stratified sampling method,with 34 cases in each group.The control group only received routine medical treatment,while the experimental group was treated with hyperbaric oxygen on this basis.The clinical treatment effect was compared between the two groups.Results Before treatment,there were no significant differences in the scores of the ability of daily living(ADL),mini-mental state examimation(MMSE)and Montreal cognitive assessment scale(MoCA)between the two groups(P>0.05)After treatment,the ADL score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group,and the MMSE and MoCA scores were higher than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The total effective rate of treatment in the experimental group(91.18%)was higher than that in the control group(79.41%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In terms of serum indicators,the levels of central nervous system specific protein(S100β)and neuron specific enolase(NSE)before treatment between the two groups were not statistically different(P>0.05).After treatment,the serum S100β and NSE levels of the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The serum S100β and NSE levels of the experimental group after treatment were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the basis of conventional Western medicine treatment can effectively correct the symptoms of brain hypoxia,improve the patients′cognitive function,improve the ability of daily living,and then exert a significant therapeutic effect.It is worthy of promotion and implementation.
