Changes and significance of interleukin-35 before and after the treatment of severe hepatitis by plasma diafiltration |

Abstract Objective To investigate the changes and significance of interleukin-35 (IL-35) before and after the treatment of severe hepatitis by plasma diafiltration (PDF). Methods A total of 40 patients with severe hepatitis admitted to Pingxiang People′s Hospital from July 2018 to July 2019 were selected as the study group, and 40 healthy patients who underwent physical examinations in this hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The serum IL-35 levels of the two groups were compared. The serum IL-35 level, biochemical indicators, and electrolytes of the study group before and after treatment were also compared. The correlation between serum IL-35 level and biochemical indicators and electrolytes was analyzed. Results The serum IL-35 level in the study group was (23.23±6.32) pg/mL,lower than that in the control group of (101.92±12.47) pg/mL, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).In the study group, the levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), total bilirubin (TBil),and sodium ion (Na+) after treatment were lower than those before treatment, IL-35 level was higher than that before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The IL-35 was negatively correlated with AST,ALT, TBil, Na+(r=-0.267, -0.492, -0.444, -0.413, P<0.05). Conclusion IL-35 is in low expression of severe hepatitis,and it is significantly increased after treatment. It may be involved in the development of severe hepatitis. Detection of IL-35 can assess the severity and prognosis of patients and guide treatment.
