Abstract Objective To investigate the application effect of WeChat group regular education in the use of inhalers in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) at stable stage. Methods A total of 70 patients with COPD at stable stage admitted to Yichun Second People′s Hospital from October 2017 to October 2019 were selected as study subjects. They were divided into the control group(35 cases)and the study group(35 cases)according to random number table method. The control group adopted the conventional nosocomial drug education method, and the study group established the WeChat group with doctors, pharmaceutists and nurses on the basis of the control group, and regularly distributed the health education related knowledge and various inhalation agent use methods. The inhaler use technique score, medication compliance, lung function indicators, and oral Candida infection rates were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. Results After 6 months of intervention, the inhaler use technique score of the study group was(5.80±0.83) points, which was higher than that of the control group ([4.14±0.94]points), with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).The medication compliance score of the study group was (6.25±1.33) points, which was higher than that of the control group([5.01±1.61]points),with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The percentage of predicted value of forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1%) in the study group was (61±4)%, which was higher than that in the control group ([56±4]%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The infection rate of oral Candida in the study group was 8.6%, which was significantly lower than that in the control group of 31.4%, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion WeChat group regular education is beneficial to the improvement of inhalant operation technique and medication compliance in patients with COPD in stable period, which is worthy of further discussion and promotion in clinical practice.
