Abstract Objective To analyze the expression of Anoamin1 (ANO1) protein in gastric adenocarcinoma and normal gastric mucosal tissue sections and to explore the role of ANO1 protein in the development of gastric adenocarcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of ANO1 protein in 78 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma from Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University and the expression of ANO1 protein in 21 cases of normal gastric mucosa tissues from Shenyang Jinyu Medical Laboratory from January 2016 to February 2018.The difference in the expression of ANO1 protein in gastric adenocarcinoma and normal gastric mucosa was analyzed and compared, and the correlation between ANO1 protein and clinicopathological parameters of gastric adenocarcinoma patients was studied. Results The positive rate of ANO1 protein expression in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues was 43.59%(34/78), which was higher than that in normal gastric mucosa tissues accounting for 14.29% (3/21), and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=6.070, P=0.014).There was no significant difference in the positive rate of ANO1 protein expression in different ages, genders, tumor diameters, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and long-term drinking (P>0.05).The positive rate of ANO1 protein expression in different degrees of differentiation and HER2 was statistically significant (P<0.05).The expression of ANO1 protein in gastric adenocarcinoma was not associated with age, gender, tumor diameter, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and long-term drinking status (P>0.05).ANO1 protein expression was negatively correlated with tumor differentiation and HER2 (r=-0.276, -0.315; P=0.015, 0.005).Conclusion The expression of ANO1 protein in gastric adenocarcinoma increases, and ANO1 protein positivity is more common in patients with low tumor differentiation and HER2 protein negative.ANO1 protein plays an important role in the development of gastric adenocarcinoma.>
