Abstract ObjectiveTo analyze the effect of Omeprazole on uric acid in patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding.Methods50 patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage admitted in our hospital from October 2015 to March 2017 were selected as subjects and divided into control group and observation group by voluntary way, with 25 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with Cimetidine and patients in the observation group were treated with Omeprazole. The serum uric acid (SUA)values and serum urea nitrogen values of the two groups of patients were observed and recorded, and SUA values of different blood loss and symptoms were compared between the two groups.ResultsThere was no statistically significant difference in SUA values at admission and serum urea nitrogen when bleeding between the two groups(P>0.05).The SUA in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group after 2 weeks of bleeding, and the serum urea nitrogen after the cessation of bleedingas significantly lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The SUA of patients with the bleeding>1000 ml,the bleeding 500-1000 ml were compared between the two groups, and the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The SUA of patients with the bleeding<500 ml,had shock symptoms and not shock in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionOmeprazole can affect uric acid to some extent, and promote uric acid to be normal.
