Effect of non-invasive ventilator in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated with respiratory failure |

Abstract Objective To analyze the therapeutic effect of non-invasive ventilator in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)and respiratory failure (RF).Methods A total of 90 COPD patients complicated with RF treated in our hospital from January 2014 to June 2016 were selected as the subjects,and divided into research group and control group by random number table method,45 cases in each group.In the control group,routine treatments such as trachea dilation,oxygen uptake,cough relieving,and phlegm eliminating were used,while in the research group,on the basis of the control group,non-invasive ventilator was added.The oxygen partial pressure (PaO2),respiratory rate(RR),oxygen saturation (SaO2),and heart rate (HR)before and after treatment,and occurrence of adverse reactions were observed in the two groups.Results HR after treatment in the research group ([93.82±10.37]times/min)was lower than that in the control group([119.28±18.47]times/min).The SaO2in the research group([99.04±4.87]%)was higher than that in the control group([79.08±2.22]%),RR in the research group([22.07±1.89]times/min)was lower than that in the control group ([29.81±1.98]times/min),PaO2in the research group ([66.07±2.97]mmHg)was higher than that in the control group([50.12±2.11]mmHg),the differencse were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the research group(13.33%)was much lower than that in the control group(35.56%),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The hospital stay([9.1±1.2]d),hospitalization cost([8798.1±102.8]yuan),and amount of re-admission ([0.23±0.12]times)in the research group were less than those in the control group ([13.2±2.1]d,[9879.4±1129.2]yuan,and [1.98±0.89]times),the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Non-invasive ventilator therapy for patients with COPD and RF can significantly improve the clinical symptoms,enhance the efficacy of treatment,and reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions,which is worthy of widespread promotion in clinic.
