Application effect of multimedia education in the diet education of patientswith type 2 diabetesmellitus |

Abstract ObjectiveTo analyze effect ofmultimedia education on diet education in patientswith type 2 diabetesmellitus.Methods120 patientswith 2 type old diabetesmellitus admitted into our hospital from May 2013 to August 2014 were randomly selected as research object and divided into two groups according to 1∶1 proportion,60 patients in control group were implemented traditional diet education mode,while 60 patients in observation group were given multimedia education based on traditional diet education mode,blood glucose levels,self-care ability score and diet knowledge score in two groups after different educationalmethods were evaluated.ResultsAfter intervention,blood glucose levels in two groups were significantly different than those before intervention (P<0.05).Fasting blood glucose and postprandial 2 h blood glucose level in the observation group was(6.0±2.3),(8.5±1.9)mmol/L,compared with(7.8±3.2), (10.2±3.6)mmol/L in the control group therewas statistical difference (P<0.05).Self-care ability scores in the observation group was superior to that in the control group;diet knowledge score in the observation group was(94.1+2.3)scores, significantly higher than(82.4+3.1)scores in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionMultimedia diet education for patients with type 2 diabetesmellitus can significantly improve the understanding of diet-related knowledge,more control blood glucose levels and has notable effect.
