Analysis of Professor GU Zhi-shan′s academic thought and clinical experience

Abstract：Professor GU Zhi-shan is a representative descendant of Longsha medical school. He has fully inherited the characteristics of the three directions "pay attention to the theory of five movements and six qi in Huangdi′s Inner Canon and its clinical application, apply the theory of 'opening and disconnecting shu′ of three yin and three yang and combine with the guidance of constitution differentiation to apply the prescription of jing, and apply the prescription of ointment to keep healthy and treat the disease based on the theory of kidney life" of Longsha school. He has great attainments in the research and application of the theory of five evolutive phases and six climatic. Professor Gu Zhi-shan believes that five evolutive phases and six climatic is a theory in traditional Chinese medicine to explore the periodic law of natural changes and its impact on human health and diseases, and is the basis and origin of the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine. In order to study the origin and development of five evolutive phases and six climatic, we should base on the perspective of Chinese culture, condense the law of yin and Yang into "three yin and three yang Taiji phase diagram", interpret "three generate all things" from yin and yang, and look at the function of six meridians dynamically. He insisted on a rigorous academic attitude and opposed to the metaphysical and simplification of the five evolutive phases and six climatic. In the aspect of differentiation and treatment of five evolutive phases and six climatic, Professor GU Zhi-shan emphasized the advantage of the thinking of five evolutive phases and six climatic, diagnosed and treated "distinguish the image,distinguish the time and grasp the rule". To analyze the"alleviative time" by opening and closing, broadened the application thinking of classical prescriptions and practiced the thinking of differentiation and treatment of climatic, and recommended the formulae of sanyin. As for the understanding of Longsha plaster, Professor Gu Zhi-shan believes that it is necessary to prevent diseases before diseases, and prescribedherbal depending on five evolutive phases and six climatic; he emphasizes the concept of great health of traditional Chinese medicine and gets rid of the shackles of treatment thinking. He promotes the opening and closing six climatic acupuncture method, enriching Longsha characteristic technology. In the aspect of disease prediction and early warning, Professor Gu Zhi-shan emphasized the prediction of epidemic diseases based on "waiting for climatic", opposed the stereotyped calculation of normal position, and used dynamic analysis of multiple factors to pay attention to abnormal state.
