Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Methods A total of 86 patients with metabolic syndrome admitted to 96604 Army Hospital of the Chinese People′s Liberation Army from May 2018 to February 2020 and 216 patients with metabolic syndrome found during physical examination in same hospital from January 2016 to February 2018 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into a control group(n=74)and an observation group(n=228)according to whether combined with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In the control group, there was no case of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and in the observation group, cases were complicated with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The examination results of the two groups were compared, and the patient′s carotid artery plaque formation was analyzed. Results The triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C),homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),TG/HDL-C,LDL-C/high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and waist circumference indexes in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the HDL-C index in the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Comparing the detection rates of different diseases, the detection rates of hypertension, hyperglycemia and carotid atherosclerosis in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Metabolic syndrome is related to the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases to a certain degree. It is an important measure to prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases by effectively improving the levels of blood glucose and blood lipids and increasing the detection rate.
