Application effect of peanut rotation skeletonization on the vascular pedicle of the upper thyroid to protect the superior laryngeal nerve

Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of peanut rotation skeletalization on the vascular pedicle of the upper thyroid to protect the superior laryngeal nerve.Methods A total of 52 patients who underwent thyroid surgery in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery,Xingguo People′s Hospital from January 2019 to February 2020 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method,they were divided into the control group and the experimental group,with 26 cases in each group.The control group received steroid protection;the experimental group received peanut rotation protection.The incidence of supralaryngeal nerve function damage,supralaryngeal nerve function recovery time,complication rate,quality of life score before and after treatment and therapeutic satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results The incidence of supralaryngeal nerve damage in the experimental group was lower than that of the control group,the recovery time of supralaryngeal nerve function was shorter that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences in the quality of life scores of the two groups (P>0.05).After treatment,the quality of life scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group,the total therapeutic satisfaction was higher than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The application of peanut rotation skeletalization in the vascular pedicle of the upper thyroid to protect the superior laryngeal nerve obtains good effect and high safety.
