Diagnostic value of transcranial Doppler ultrasound in middle cerebral artery stenosis

Abstract：ObjectiveTo investigate the value of transcranial Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of middle cerebral artery stenosis.Methods30 patients with middle cerebral artery stenosis diagnosed by transcranial digital subtraction angiography from June 2014 to March in 2017 were selected as research objects.Before surgery,they were all examined by transcranial Doppler ultrasound.The accuracy of diagnostic results,pulsatility index of middle cerebral artery,mean blood flow velocity and systolic velocity in patients with different stenosis were observed.ResultsBy Doppler ultrasound examination,the diagnosis of mild stenosis of middle cerebral artery in 15 cases(50.00%),moderate stenosis in 10 cases(33.33%),and severe stenosis in 5 cases(16.67%)were not displayed great difference with transcranial digital subtraction(P＞0.05).There were statistical differences in mean blood flow velocity and systolic velocity in patients with mild,moderate,and severe stenosis of middle cerebral artery(P＜0.05).ConclusionTranscranial Doppler ultrasound is of high value in the diagnosis of middle cerebral artery stenosis.
