Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of the health education on the compliance behavior and the maternal and infant outcomes in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods A total of 89 patients with gestational diabetes mellitus treated in our hospital from July 2015 to April 2017 were randomly divided into control group (n=44)and observation group(n=45).The control group received routine nursing intervention and health publicity and education based on routine nursing. The scores of compliance behavior(psychological regulation, regular exercise, reasonable diet, blood glucose monitoring, compliance with medical drugs, regular prenatal examination)and the changes of blood glucose levels(fasting blood glucose,2 h blood glucose after meal)before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. The adverse maternal and infant outcomes and nursing satisfaction were also counted. Results The scores of compliance behavior (psychological regulation, regular exercise, reasonable diet, blood glucose monitoring, compliance with medical drugs and regular prenatal examination)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, fasting blood glucose and 2 h postprandial blood glucose in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse maternal and infant outcomes in the observation group were lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was higher than that of the control grou, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of health education in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus has a remarkable effect on blood sugar control. It is helpful to improve the patients′compliance behavior, and reduce the incidence of adverse maternal and infant outcomes.Besides,it has high nursing satisfaction.
