Abstract:Objective To improve the success rate of catheterization by adjusting the indwelling gastric tube method and oral liquid paraffin oil before catheterization. Methods 140 cases enrolled in our department from October 2015 to May 2016 were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 70 cases in each group. The patients in the observation group were given gastric intubation with modified method, while patients in the control group were given gastric intubation with traditional method. The intubation time, the one-time intubation success rate, comfortableness rate and the adverse reaction rate were comapred between two groups. Results The intubation time in the observation group [(6.12±1.02) min] was shorter than that in the control group [(10.08±1.04) min],the one-time intubation success rate (100.00%) and comfortableness (92.86%) was higher than that in the control group(70.00%,70.00%),the adverse reaction rate (4.28%) was lower than that in the control group (18.57%),and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Through the new method of indwelling gastric tube, the oral administration of paraffin oil before leaving the gastric tube greatly improved the success rate of catheterization,Efficient, safe, easy to operate and simple,so as to reduce the pain of patients, shorten the operation time, improve the efficiency and quality of care, nurses and patients with satisfaction, worthy of clinical wide promotion and application.
