Clinical study of modified Buyang Huanwu Decoction combined with TCM directed medicine penetration instrument in the treatment of cervical insomnia

Abstract：ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of Buyang Huanwu Decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)directed medicine penetration instrument in the treatment of cervical insomnia.MethodsFrom March 2015 to September 2016,60 cervical insomnia patients meeting the inclusion criteria from the Fifth People′s Hospital of Jiujiang City,Jiujiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital,Xianggan Hospital in Jiujiang Development Distrct were recruited.According to a random number table method,they were divided into observation group (n=30)and control group (n=30).In the observation group,patients were provided with modified Buyang Huanwu Decoction for oral administration combined with TCM directed medicine penetration instrument,while in the control group,only modified Buyang Huanwu Decoction for oral administration was used.The total effective rate and the score of Athens insomnia scale after therapy in the two groups were compared.ResultsThe total effective rate of the observation group was 93.33%,and it was higher than that in the control group (76.67%)with a statistical difference (P<0.05).Compared with before treatment,the score of Athens insomnia scale after treatment were both markedly improved with statistical differences (P< 0.05).The improvement of the score of Athens insomnia scale in the observation group was superior to that in the control group,which was displayed a statistical difference (P<0.05).ConclusionModified Buyang Huanwu Decoction combined with TCM directed medicine penetration instrument can obtain a remarkable effect treating cervical insomnia, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
