Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of early postoperative ambulation intervention in elderly hip fracture patients based on the hospital elder life program (HELP) protocol. Methods A total of 158 cases elderly hip fracture surgery patients admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of the University of southern China from 2018 to d 2020 were selected as study subjects and divided into two groups according to the method of postoperative nursing intervention, the conventional group (n=82) received routine rehabilitation nursing intervention, and the HFLP group (n=76) received early out of bed activity intervention based on the help protocol, the effect after intervention between the two groups was compared. Results The time to first postoperative out of bed and hospital stay in the HELP group were shorter than those in the conventional group, with significant differences (P<0.05). The total incidence of postoperative complications in the HELP group was lower than that in the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of the hips and the daily living ability scores of the two groups at two weeks after surgery were higher than those of the preoperative, and the scores of the hips and the daily living ability scores of the HELP group at two weeks after surgery were higher than those of the conventional group, with significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion The early out of bed activity intervention based on help scheme can promote the functional recovery of elderly patients with hip fracture, promote their early out of bed activity, shorten their hospitalization time, effectively reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications, and improve their ability of daily living.
