Abstract:Objective To compare the effect of continuous penetration suture method and nasal cavity packing in nasal septoplasty. Methods A total of 60 patients who underwent nasal septoplasty from January 2017 to December 2019 in our hospital were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into observation group (n=30) and control group (n=30) according to the random number table method.Patients in the control group were given high-expansion sponges for nasal tamponade postoperatively.Patients in the observation group were treated with continuous penetrating sutures after surgery. The Lund-Mackay scoring system was used to evaluate the nasal endoscopy and sinus CT.The visual analog scale (VAS) was used to evaluate the patients. The clinical symptom improvement degree was followed up two weeks later to compare postoperative complications between the two groups. Results The scores of endoscopic and sinus CT in the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the scores of VAS were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).The postoperative complications in the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion After nasal septal plasty, compared with nasal tamponade, the continuous penetration suture method can significantly improve the patients′ postoperative discomfort symptoms, protect the nasal mucosal clearance function, and reduce postoperative complications.
