Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing(CAD/CAM) high inlay and traditional impression all ceramic crown in the repair of large-area tooth defects. Methods A total of 86 patients with large-area tooth defects treated in the Stomatology Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen Medical College from February 2019 to February 2021 were selected as the research objects.Patients were divided into control group (43 cases) and observation group (43 cases) by random number table method. The control group was repaired with traditional impression all ceramic crown, and the observation group was repaired with CAD/CAM high inlay. They were followed up for 6 months. The restoration effect, periodontal status (plaque index [PLI], periodontal pocket depth [PD],gingival index [GI]), masticatory function and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The color matching degree, surface smoothness, edge tightness and restoration integrity in the observation group were 97.67%,95.35%, 100.00% and 95.35%, respectively, which were higher than 81.40%, 79.07%, 86.05% and 81.40% in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in periodontal status between the two groups before repair (P>0.05).The PLI, PD and GI of the two groups after repair were lower than those before repair, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).The PLI ([0.61±0.15] points), PD ([0.77±0.14] mm) and GI ([0.53±0.13] points] in the observation group were lower than those in the control group of (0.73±0.18) points, (1.05±0.21) mm and (0.67±0.16) points, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).There were no significant differences in bite force and chewing efficiency between the two groups before repair (P>0.05).The bite force and masticatory efficiency of the two groups after repair were higher than those before repair, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The bite force ([61.58±6.12] kg) and masticatory efficiency ([89.58±7.13] %) in the observation group were higher than those in the control group of (56.54±5.83) kg and (82.14±6.87)%, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was 4.65%, lower than 18.60% in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion CAD/CAM high inlay is more effective in repairing large-area tooth defects. It can improve the repair effect, improve periodontal condition, enhance masticatory function and reduce the incidence of complications after repair.
