Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of bone-supported digital guides in the treatment of dental and maxillofacial deformities to guide the optimization of clinical treatment plans. Methods A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 63 patients with dental and maxillofacial deformities who used bone-supported digital guides for orthognathic surgery in our hospital from January 2016 to August 2019 were included in the observation group, and the traditional occlusal guides were selected for the same period The clinical data of 63 patients with dental and maxillofacial deformity who underwent orthognathic surgery were included in the control group. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, maxillary error, and hospitalization time were compared between the two groups. The occlusal function(temporal muscle, masseter muscle, and digastric muscle asymmetry index during median bite)was compared before and 3 months after operation. Results The intraoperative blood loss of the observation group was less than that of the control group. The operation time, maxillary error, and hospitalization time of the observation group were all less than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Three months after the surgery, masseter muscle and digastric muscle asymmetry index were lower than before operation, and masseter muscle and digastric muscle asymmetry index of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Bone support digital guide plate is effective in the treatment of dental and maxillofacial deformities. It can reduce intraoperative blood loss, reduce maxillary error, reduce the asymmetry index of the patient's 3 pairs of muscle bundles, and promote the recovery of occlusal function.
