Abstract:Objective To analysis the epidemic trend of influenza in Liaoning Province from April 2017 to March 2018,to provide reference for influenza prevention and control. Methods The epidemiological data of influenza-like cases(ILI) and their pathogenic surveillance data and outbreak data of influenza-like cases from 21 influenza surveillance sentinel hospitals from 2017 to 2018 were analyzed. Results A total of 14 005 pharyngeal swabs were collected from 21 sentinel hospitals in Liaoning Province, the ILI reported by sentinel hospitals accounted for 3.65% of the total number of outpatient and emergency cases on average, the positive rate of nucleic acid test was 11.49%. The percentage of influenza-like cases (ILI%) had a significant peak in winter and spring. The age group under 15 years old was the main source of positive ILI and influenza nucleic acid, the proportion of positive ILI and positive nucleic acid detection was 74.27% (10 401/14 005) and 81.67% (1314/1609) respectively. From 2017 to 2018, A (H3N2), B (Yamagata) and A(H1N1) flu alternately prevailed in our province, while B (Victoria) was a low-level co-epidemic. Outbreak reports concentrated in primary and secondary schools accounted for 94.44% (17/18). Conclusion Influenza activity in Liaoning Province is high in winter and spring, influenza virus is mixed epidemic situation, and dominant strains alternate frequently. Children and the elderly need to focus on prevention and control, strengthen influenza vaccination, winter and spring schools are the focus of the outbreak.
