Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical application effect of expanded sponge, gelatin sponge packing and expanded sponge packing alone after endoscopic sinus surgery. Methods From June 2017 to August 2018,80 patients treated in our hospital after endoscopic sinus surgery were selected as the research objects, and were divided into observation group (40 cases) and control group (40 cases) by double-color ball random grouping method.Patients in the observation group were stuffed with expanded sponge and gelatin sponge, while patients in the control group were stuffed with expanded sponge. Two groups of patients were compared in terms of various filling indexes (visual analogue scale [VAS]score of nasal cavity 24 h after operation, amount of bleeding during filling, amount of bleeding during extraction of nasal packing, difficulty in extraction of nasal packing),subjective pain score(sleep disorder, headache, nasal obstruction and nasal obstruction) and degree of nasal mucosa swelling. Results There was no significant difference in nasal cavity VAS score between the two groups at 24 h after operation (P>0.05).The bleeding volume of patients in the observation group during the filling period and the bleeding volume when nasal packing was extracted were both less than those in the control group, and the difficulty degree score when nasal packing was extracted was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The sleep disorder, headache, nasal obstruction and nasal obstruction scores of the patients in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The swelling degree of nasal mucosa in the observation group was lighter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Expanded sponge combined with gelatin sponge nasal packing has high application value after endoscopic sinus surgery, and can relieve patients′ subjective pain, which is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
