Effect of eye acupuncture treating abducens nerve injury after brainstem stroke

Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of eye acupuncture treating abducens nerve injury after brainstem stroke.Methods All of 42 patients with abducens nerve injury after brainstem stroke from outpatient and inpatient department of the Shenyang Hunhe Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from October 2015 to October 2017 were selected,and they were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=20)and control group(n=22).Patients in the two groups were given modern rehabilitation treatment,and the treatment group was treated with eye acupuncture additionally.10 consecutive times as a course of treatment,patients were treated for 4 courses.At the end of the second and fourth courses,the clinical effect between the two groups was compared.Results The total effective rate of the second course of treatment was not significantly different between the two groups (P=0.08),and the total effective rate of the fourth course of treatment was significantly different between the two groups (P=0.032).Conclusion Eye acupuncture therapy can significantly improve abducent nerve injury symptoms after brainstem stroke.
