Effect of Compound Ornidazole/Pefloxacin Poly Lactic Acid-Hydroxyacetic Acid Copolymer Microspheres in treatment of chronic periodontitis

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of Compound Ornidazole/Pefloxacin Poly Lactic Acid-Hydroxyacetic Acid Copolymer (PLGA) Microspheres in treatment of chronic periodontitis.Methods The clinical data of 100 patients with chronic periodontitis admitted to Department of Stomatology in Xiangzhou District People′s Hospital from January 2017 to March 2018 were analyzed.According to the different treatment measures, the patients were divided into control group (50 cases, oral Periodontitis treatment) and observation group (50 cases, Compound Ornidazole/Pefloxacin PLGA Microspheres treatment).The gingival index (GI), gingival crevicular bleeding index (BI), probing depth (PD) and gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of patients in the two groups were observed, as well as the total effective rate of clinical treatment of patients in the two groups were also observed.Results The GI, BI and PD of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in GCF between the two groups (P>0.05).The total effective rate of clinical treatment of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Application of Compound Ornidazole/Pefloxacin PLGA Microspheres in treatment of patients with chronic periodontitis can improve the clinical symptoms and has good effect.
