Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Ketotifen with different frequencies of administration in the treatment of variant asthma in children. Methods All of 100 children with variant asthma in Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Kuitun City from January 2017 to January 2018 were randomly selected and divided into the study group(50 cases) and control group (50 cases) according to the random number table method. The study group received Ketotifen treatment, once a day, while the control group received Ketotifen, twice a day.The clinical efficacy, pulmonary function, cough relief and disappearance time, day and night cough score, asthma disappearance time, treatment cost, adverse reactions and recurrence were counted and analyzed in the two groups. Results The total effective rate was 96.0% in the study group, which was significantly higher than that in the control group (70.0%) (P<0.05).The peak expiratory flow rate (PEF), forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) and the percentage of FEV1% in the predicted value were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).The cough relief and disappearance time and asthma disappearance time were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05).The cough scores in daytime and nighttime were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions (8.0%) and recurrence rate (2.9%) were significantly lower than those of the control group (14.0%, 28.6%) (P<0.05).Conclusion Ketotifen administered once a day is better than 2 times daily in the treatment of variant asthma in children.
