Abstract:Objective To study the correlation between loneliness and social support in elderly inpatients with psychosis. Methods A total of 107 elderly inpatients with psychosis admitted to our hospital from March 2015 to March 2017 were selected as the study group. At the same time,107 non-psychiatric inpatients in our hospital were selected as the control group. The general data of all participants were collected and summed up,and the correlation between loneliness and social support in elderly inpatients with psychosis was evaluated by social support rating scale and loneliness scale. Results After observing the scores of the two groups,it was found that objective support, subjective scoring, use of support, and total score in the social support of the study group were lower than those in the control group. The loneliness score of the study group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05).The loneliness score of the study group was negatively correlated with objective support, subjective scoring, use of support, and total score respectively, which was displayed statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The loneliness of hospitalized elderly patients with psychiatric disorders is relatively strong, and there is a certain correlation with the lack of social support. If effective intervention can be taken in time, family and social support will be strengthened to ease patient's bad emotion so as to promote the rapid recovery of the disease.
