Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Buchang Naoxintong on microinflammation markers and carotid intima-media thickness. Methods The clinical data of 60 patients with maintenance hemodialysis(MHD)admitted to our hospital from August to December 2017 were analyzed.According to whether or not the patients were treated with Buchang Naoxintong, they were equally divided into control group (basic treatment)and observation group(Buchang Naoxintong treatment),30 cases in each group. The levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP)and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α),carotid intima-media thickness(IMT),maximum thickness(Tmax),and maximum area in transection (Smax)were observed before and after treatment in the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in the level of IL-6,CRP,TNF-α,IMT,Tmax or Smax between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After therapy,IL-6,CRP,and TNF-α levels,IMT,Tmax and Smax were all lower than those in the same group before treatment. After treatment, the levels of IL-6,CRP,TNF-α,IMT,Tmax,and Smax were all lower in the observation group compared with those in the control group with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of Buchang Naoxintong in patients with MHD can improve the inflammatory state and reduce the carotid intima-media thickness, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
