Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of glass ceramic onlay created with carved porcelain farce(CEREC) system in repairing tooth defect after root canal therapy (RCT),to provide referance for clinic. Methods 70 teeth of 62 cases of patients, who visited to Department of General of Shanxi Medical University from April 2015 to March 2016, were repaired by glass ceramic onlay by using CEREC system after perfect RCT.In 3,6,12 months of follow-up after repairing, clinical use of teeth were understood and the quality of fixed restorations was evaluated by the United States Public Health Service(USPHS)modified standards. Results One case was out of contact, other 61 patients(69 teeth)returned on time,3-15 months of follow-up,follow-up rate was 98.39%(61/62).The prosthesis of 1 case(1 affected tooth: left lower the second molar)of follow-up cases 3 months after restoration falled off,the rest of the patients with the clinical usage of restoration were relatively satisfied, satisfaction rate of patients was 98.36%(60/61).The prosthesis of 1 tooth falled off 3 months after restoration, the others for 68 teeth were all graded A and B,success rate of restoration was 98.55%(68/69).Conclusion Clinical effect of glass ceramic onlay by using CEREC system repairing tooth defect after RCT is significant. It is deserving of clinical popularity and application.
