Clinical effect of microparticle humidification on airway humidification in non-mechanical tracheotomy patients |

Abstract Objective To explore the clinical effect of microparticle humidification in airway humidification of non-mechanical tracheotomy patients.Methods From January 2018 to February 2020,66 patients with tracheotomy and non mechanical ventilation in the Department of critical care medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical College were selected as the research objects.They were divided into experimental(n=33)and control(n=33)groups using the random number table method.The microparticle humidification method was used in the experimental group,while the conventional continuous airway instillation method was used in the control patients.Sputum pH,number of suctioning attempts,blood oxygen saturation(SpO2)value,number of dislodgements of the humidified hose,time spent on a single wet device and cost of the humidification device were compared between the two groups.Results The sputum pH value of patients in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group on the 3rd,4th,5th,6th and 7th day after intervention,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The sputum suction times of patients in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group on the 3rd,4th,5th and 7th day after intervention,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The SpO2 value of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group on the 3rd,4th,5th,6th and 7th day after intervention,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).The times of wetting hose falling off in the experimental group was less than that of control group,the nursing time of single wetting device was shorter than that of control group and the nursing cost of wetting device were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).Conclusion The microparticle plus wet method was conducive to improving the pH and SpO2 value of sputum,reducing the number of sputum aspiration,the nursing time of a single humidification device,and the cost of the humidification device,thereby reducing the nursing workload and the hospitalization expenses of patients.
