Effect of Xiaoqinglong Decoction combined with noninvasive ventilator on blood gas index and lung function in elderly patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease |

Abstract Objective Effect of Xiaoqinglong Decoction combined with noninvasive ventilator on blood gas index and pulmonary function in elderly patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods A total of 90 elderly patients with AECOPD who admitted to the Fourth People′s Hospital of Dalian from January 2019 to February 2020 were selected as the research object,they were divided into the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)group and the western medicine group according to random numbers table method,with 45 cases in each group.The western medical group was treated with routine therapy combined with noninvasive ventilator,the TCM group was treated with Xiaoqinglong Decoction combined with noninvasive ventilator.The curative effect,blood gas indexes(partial pressure of carbon dioxide [PaCO2],oxygen partial pressure [PaO2])and lung function(forced vital capacity [FVC],forced expiratory volume in the first second [FVC1],and the percentage of forced expiratory volume in the first second to forced vital capacity [FEV1/FVC])were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate in TCM group was higher than that in western medicine group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences in blood gas index and lung function index between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,FVC,FEV1,FEV1/FVC and PaO2 in TCM group were higher than those in western medicine group,and PaCO2 was lower than that in western medicine group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Xiaoqinglong Decoction combined with noninvasive ventilator is effective in the elderly patients with AECOPD,which can significantly improve the blood gas analysis index and promote the recovery of lung function.
