Abstract Acetabular fracture is a serious injury in clinics,which often involves the quadrilateral plate.The quadrilateral plate refers to the medial wall of the acetabulum,which prevents the medial migration of the femoral head.Acetabular fractures involving the quadrilateral plate are intra-articular fractures,requiring open reduction and internal fixation to anatomically restore the joint surface and avoid the traumatic arthritis.Due to the deep location,minimal bone stock,complicated anatomical structures around the quadrilateral plate and the varied fracture types,the open reduction and internal fixation of acetabular fractures involving the quadrilateral plate is challenging.This article reviews the anatomical characteristics,surgical approaches and internal fixation of the acetabular fracture involving the quadrilateral plate to provide a reference for the clinical treatment.
