AbstractObjective To explore the effect of percutaneous pedicle screw fixation surgery in the treatment of thoracolumbar spine fracture. Methods A total of 62 patients with the new diagnosis of thoracolumbar spine fractures in our hospital from January to December 2016 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method, with 31 cases in each group.Patients in the observation group received percutaneous pedicle screw fixation surgery, and those in the control group underwent open pedicle screw fixation. The injury vertebrae height ratio and Cobb angle at different times were observed in the two groups. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, length of incision and indwelling time of the drainage tube were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in the injury vertebrae height ratio between the two groups before the operation and at the 7thday and 3rdmonth follow-up(P>0.05).The injury vertebrae height ratio at the 7thday and 3rdmonth follow-up in the two groups was significantly higher than that before the operation, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the Cobb angle between the two groups before the operation and at the 7thday and 3rdmonth follow-up (P>0.05).The Cobb angle at the 7thday and 3rd month follow-up in the two groups was significantly lower than that before the operation, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The operation time, incision length and indwelling time of the drainage tube in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The intraoperative blood loss of the observation group was significantly less than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of open pedicle screw fixation and percutaneous pedicle screw fixation surgery is similar in the treatment of thoracolumbar spine fracture, but the latter is more minimally invasive.
