Influence of Acetylcysteine Effervescent Tablets on cardiopulmonary function and airway remodeling in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease |

Abstract Objective To analyze the changes of cardiopulmonary function and airway remodeling level in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease after adjuvant therapy of Acetylcysteine (NAC)Effervescent Tablets.Methods Ninety patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD)admitted to our hospital from August 2016 to August 2017 were selected as the subjects,and divided into two groups by random number table methods,with 45 patients each group.The control group were treated with conventional methods,and the observation group were treated with Acetylcysteine Effervescent Tablets as adjuvant therapy.The oxidative stress-related products in the serum,the levels of inflammation in peripheral blood and airway remodeling,and the level of lung function were compared.Results There was no significant difference in the indicators between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,the levels of MDA,protein C (PC)and 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine(8-OHdG)in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group,and the total antioxidant capacity of TAC was higher than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of oligomeric domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3),spot-like protein ASC,p38 protein kinase (p38MAPK),and myeloid cell-evoked receptor 1(TREM-1)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP-2),matrix metalloproteinase 3(MMP-3)and matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the levels of matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor TIMP-1 and matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor TIMP-2 were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The first-second forced expiratory volume(FEV1),the ratio of first-second forced expiratory volume to the forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC),and the percentage of predicted FEV1(FEV1%)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significantt(P<0.05).Conclusion NAC Effervescent Tablets as an adjuvant therapy for stable COPD can effectively improve the cardiopulmonary function and airway remodeling of patients,and can significantly improve the quality of life of patients.
