Efficacy of standardized nursing on patients with multi-drug resistant bacteria infection |

Abstract Objective To explore the efficacy of standardized nursing on patients with multi-drug resistant bacteria infection.Methods 120 patients treated in the Department of Pneumology in Gannan Medical College First Affiliated Hospital from January 2011 to December 2014,who were diagnosed with lower respiratory infection with more than twice positive results of sputum culture and treated by bacteria-sensitive antibiotics were selected.78 hospitalized patients (January 2011 to December 2012) meeting the inclusion criteria were divided into the control group,and 42 patients (January 2013 to December 2014) were divided into the observation group as standardized nursing had been conducted since January 2013 among patients with multi-drug resistant bacteria infection in respiratory tract.The implementation effect of two groups were compared.Results The general condition of patients,outcome of patients and sputum culturing results in the observation group were all significantly better than those in the control group,the incidence rate of multi-drug resistant bacteria lower than that in the control group,the satisfaction of patients and hand sanitation execution rate were higher than those in the control group,the number of days of antibiotics application and hospital days were shorter than those the control group,the hospital costs was less than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Standardized nursing management can reduce the number of hospitalized days in patients with multi-drug resistant bacteria infection,increase the negative conversion ratio of sputum culturing,shorten the average days of antibiotic application,reduce the cost of hospitalization,improve the general condition of patients,promote the outcome of patients,improve patients′satisfaction,reduce the incidence of multi-drug resistant bacteria and improve hand sanitation execution rate among medical workers,which is worthy to be promoted.
