| Investigation on mental health status and its influencing factors among medical staff of Bureau of Prison in Jiangxi Province |

Abstract ObjectiveTo observe the mental health status of medical staff of Bureau of Prison in Jiangxi Province and analyze the influencing factors,and to develop targeted psychological counseling strategies to improve their psychological health.Methods350 medical staff of Bureau of Prison in Jiangxi Province from July to October in 2016 were enrolled to investigate,and the mental health status were surveyed by the self-assessment lists of symptom scale(SCL-90) and Campbell happiness index,then the single factor descriptive analysis and multi-factor Logistic regression analysis were carried out to determine the influencing factors among medical staff of Bureau of Prison in Jiangxi Province.The targeted psychological counseling strategies according to the results of the analysis were formulated.ResultsThe recovery rate was 90.86%in 350 subjects,among which there were 155 cases with mental health problems.The univariate analysis showed that the male,wrinkly,married,undergraduate education,clinical prison medical workers had more psychological problems.Multivariate analysis showed that both of gender,standard of culture,marital status,age,length of service were the mental health factors that affected the psychological problems of the prison medical staff.ConclusionThe mental health status of medical staff of Bureau of Prison in Jiangxi Province is not ideal,and there are many influencing factors,so psychological counseling should be targeted to improve their mental health status.
