| Effect of acupuncture combined with moxibustion at Naokong acupoint in the treatment of vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of acupuncture combined with moxibustion at Naokong acupoint in treatment of vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis.Methods 60 patients with vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis treated in department of rehabilitation of our hospital from June 2016 to June 2017 were selected,and they were randomly divided into two groups and they were treated with acupuncture plus moxibustion therapy (30 cases in observation group) and acupuncture therapy (30 cases in control group) respectively.The clinical effect between the two groups was compared.Results The post-operative average blood flow velocity (Vm) of vertebral artery (VA) and basilar artery (BA) of observation group were significantly higher than those before treatment and higher than those of control group at the same period.The total effective rate of observation group (96.7%) was higher than that of control group (80.0%) with significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture combined with moxibustion at Naokong acupoint treating vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis can accelerate the cerebral blood flow velocity and inprove the therapeutic effect.
