| Effect of self-made medicinal liquor wet compress combined with infrared radiation on pain, lumbar vertebral function and quality of life in patients with spinal diseases |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of self-made medicinal liquor wet compress combined with infrared radiation on pain, lumbar vertebral function and quality of life in patients with spinal diseases.Methods A total of 86 patients with lumbosacral disc herniation (LDH) who were admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine from August 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the research subjects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into a control group with 43 cases and an observation group with 43 cases.Both groups received conventional treatment.The control group was treated with infrared radiation, and the observation group was treated with self-made medicinal liquor wet compress on the basis of the control group.The clinical efficacy, pain,lumbar vertebral function, and ability of daily living were compared between the two groups.Results The total effectiveness rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the visual analogue scale (VAS)score or the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score before treatment between the two groups (P＞0.05).After treatment, the VAS scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the JOA scores were higher than those before treatment, with statistical significances (P＜0.05).After treatment, the VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the JOA score was higher than that of the control group, with statistical significances (P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the ability of daily living (ADL) score before treatment (P＞0.05).The ADL scores of the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The ADL score of the observation group after treatment was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P ＜0.05).Conclusion Self-made medicinal liquor wet compress combined with infrared radiation can reduce pain in patients with LDH, facilitate the recovery of lumbar vertebral function, and enhance the ability of daily living.
