Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of chiropractic combined with vibroacoustic therapy (VAT) in the treatment of 3-5-year-old children with growth retardation. Methods A total of 80 cases of 3-5-year-old children with growth retardation admitted to our hospital in March 2017 were selected as the research objects.According to the method of random number table,they were divided into the control group (n=40) and the observation group (n=40).The control group was treated with routine treatment,while the observation group was treated with chiropractic combined with VAT on the basis of the control group.The height changes in different periods,motor function improvement and development index of the two groups before and after treatment were compared. Results The height of children in the observation group at the 3rd,6th,9th and 12th month after treatment was higher than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).There were no significant difference in motor function,mental development index (MDI)and psychomotor development index (PDI) before treatment between the two groups (P＞0.05).After treatment,the level of gross motor (GM) function and fine motor (FM) function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).The levels of PDI and MDI in the observation group after treatment were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion For children with growth retardation,chiropractic therapy combined with VAT can promote their height growth,improve their neuromotor function,and ensure their healthy growth and development.
