Abstract Objective To explore the effect of laparoscopic surgery on immune function and serum levels of interleukin-8 (IL-8) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in patients with acute suppurative appendicitis. Methods A total of 89 patients with acute suppurative appendicitis treated in Liaoning Health Industry Group Fukuang General Hospital from February 2018 to October 2019 were selected, and divided into the control group (n=44) and the observation group(n=45) by the random number table method. The control group underwent routine laparotomy, and the observation group underwent laparoscopic surgery. The clinical indicators were compared between the two groups, and the immune function, serum IL-8,and TNF-α levels before and 72 h after operation were compared between the two groups. Results The incision length and exhaust time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, and the amount of bleeding was less than that of the control group at 72 h after operation;at 72 h after operation, the serum levels of immunoglobulin M (IgM) and immunoglobulin G (IgG) in the two groups were lower than those before operation, and the serum IgM and IgG levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group at 72 h after operation;at 72 h after operation, the levels of serum IL-8 and TNF-α in the two groups were lower than those before operation, and the levels of serum IL-8 and TNF-α in the observation group were lower than those in the control group at 72 h after operation, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic surgery has a significant effect on the treatment of acute suppurative appendicitis, which can improve the patient′s immune function, reduce the serum IL-8 and TNF-α levels, inhibit the body′s inflammatory response, and promote the patient′s recovery.
