Application effect of cross-theoretical model health education under caregiver coordination on rehabilitation in patients with stroke hemiplegia |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of cross-theoretical model health education under caregiver coordination on the rehabilitation in patients with stroke hemiplegia. Methods A total of 70 patients with stroke hemiplegia treated in the Department of Neurology in the Jiujiang First People's Hospital from January 2019 to June 2020 were selected.They were divided into the control group (35 patients) and the observation group (35 patients) using random number table method. The control group were given traditional health education, and the observation group were given crosstheoretical model health education under caregiver coordination. The rehabilitation effect, self-efficacy, self-management behavior ability and self-care ability before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in scores of Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) and modified Edinburgh scandinavian stroke scale (MESSS) between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05). After intervention, the scores of FMA in both groups were higher than those before intervention, and the scores of MESSS in both groups were lower than those before intervention. The score of FMA in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the score of MESSS in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in scores of Chronic disease self-efficacy scale (CDSES), selfmanagement behavior and self-care ability (Barthel index [BI]) between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05). After intervention, the scores of CDSES, self-management behavior and BI in both groups were higher than those before intervention. The scores of CDSES, self-management behavior and BI in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of cross-theoretical model health education under caregiver coordination can improve rehabilitation effect, and enhance patients' self-efficacy, self-management behavior ability, and self-care ability in the rehabilitation of patients with stroke hemiplegia.The effect is ideal.
