Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of continuous nursing model after total hip replacement (THR).Methods A total of 96 patients undergoing THR in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January to August 2019 were selected. They were divided the control group (48 cases) and the study group (48 cases) by random touch ball method. The control group implemented routine discharge guidance, and the study group implemented continuous nursing mode. The changes of Harris score and Barthel index were compared between the two groups before operation and 1,3,and 6 months after operation, and the total incidence of complications and nursing satisfaction were compared. Results At 1,3,and 6 months after surgery, the Harris score and Barthel index of the study group were higher than those of the control group, the total complication rate of the study group was 4.17%,which was lower than that of the control group of 18.75%,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction score of the study group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of continuation nursing mode for patients undergoing THR can promote the recovery of joint function and activities of daily living, reduce the incidence of complications, and improve nursing satisfaction.
