Effect of traditional Chinese medicine colon dialysis on the micro-inflammation and nutritional status of patients with stage 3 ~5 chronic kidney disease |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of traditional Chinese medicine colonic dialysis on the micro-inflammatory and nutrition status of patients with stage 3~5 chronic kidney disease (CKD).Methods A total of 60 patients with stage 3~5 CKD who were admitted to Jiujiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Jiangxi Province from January 2016 to December 2017 were selected as the research objects and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method,with 30 cases in each group.The control group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine enema,while the treatment group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine colon dialysis,and both of the groups were treated for 3 months.The inflammation indicators and nutritional status of the two groups were compared.Results After 3 months of treatment,the levels of serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the levels of hs-CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After 3 months of treatment,the levels of plasma albumin,transferrin,plasma prealbumin and hemoglobin in the two groups were higher than those before treatment,and the levels of plasma albumin,transferrin,plasma prealbumin and hemoglobin in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The traditional Chinese medicine colon dialysis is effective in the treatment of patients with stage 3~5 CKD,which can further reduce the micro-inflammatory reaction and improve the nutritional status.
