Effect of intraocular lens implantation in the treatment of high myopia |

Abstract Objective To explore the clinical effect of intraocular lens implantation in the treatment of high myopia.Methods A total of 80 patients with high myopia admitted to Dalian Third People′s Hospital from March 2017 to June 2019 were selected,and divided into the observation group and the control group according to random number table method,with 40 patients in each group.The observation group was treated with posterior chamber intraocular lens (ICL),the control group was treated with full femtosecond laser micro-incision corneal stroma lens resection (SMILE).At 1 year after surgery,lens high-order aberrations and whole-eye high-order aberrations at 3 mm and 5 mm pupil diameters,corneal endothelial cell density before and after surgery,visual acuity changes during 1 year follow-up were compared between the two groups.Results At 1 year after operation,the higher-order aberrations of lens in observation group were lower than those in control group at 3 mm and 5 mm pupil diameters,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The density of corneal endothelial cells in observation group was higher than that in control group,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).One month,six months and one year after operation,the visual acuity in observation group was higher than that in control group,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with high myopia,ICL implantation can effectively reduce postoperative high-order aberrations,improve corneal endothelial cell function and improve postoperative visual acuity.
