Abstract Objective To explore the effect of acupoint massage combined with emotional nursing intervention in lower extremity fracture. Methods A total of 110 patients with lower extremity fracture after surgery admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2018 to February 2021 were selected.According to the random digital table method, patients were divided into the control group(55 cases)and the observation group(55 cases). The control group used traditional orthopedic intervention, and the observation group carried out acupoint massage combined with TCM emotional nursing intervention on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated with intervention for one course(30 d).The self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS),hospital of special surgery knee score(HSS)and barthel index(MBI)scores and the incidence of complications during intervention between two groups were compared. Results There were no significant differences in SAS and SDS scores between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05);the SAS and SDS scores of the two groups after intervention were lower than those before intervention, the SAS and SDS scores of the observation group after intervention were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant difference in HSS and MBI scores between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05);the HSS and MBI scores of the two groups after intervention were higher than those before intervention, the scores of HSS and MBI in the observation group were higher than those in the control group after intervention, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).During the intervention, the total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of acupoint massage combined with TCM emotional nursing intervention for patients with lower limb fractures can effectively relieve anxiety and depression, promote the recovery of knee joint function, improve the quality of life, and reduce complications.
