Abstract Objective To analyze the clinical value of platelet-rich plasma(PRP)in knee osteoarthritis. Methods A total of 70 patients with knee osteoarthritis admitted to the Department of Orthopedics of Shangrao Municipal Hospital from January 2019 to June 2020 were selected and divided into the control group(n=35)and the observation group(n=35)according to the random number table method. The control group were treated with sodium hyaluronate, and the observation group were treated with PRP.The knee joint function and pain degree were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in the Lequesne Algofunctional index(Lequesne)score, visual analog scale(VAS)score, and the western Ontario and McMaster Universities osteoarthritis index(WOMAC)score between the two groups(P>0.05).The Lequesne score,VAS score, and WOMAC score of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at 1,3,and 6 months after treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The Lequesne score,VAS score, and WOMAC scores at 1,3,and 6 months after treatment were lower than those before treatment in this group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion PRP is effective in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, which can improve knee joint function and degree of osteoarthritis, relieve pain, and promote recovery of patients.
