Abstract Objective To investigate the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor(VEGFR)in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)and their correlations with pathological characteristics. Methods A total of 200 breast cancer patients who underwent surgeries in Foshan Chancheng Central Hospital from March 2018 to March 2020 were retrospectively selected as the research subjects, including 100 TNBC patients and 100 non-TNBC patients. The clinicopathological data of all patients were collected, including age, menstrual status, pathological type, clinical stage, histological grade, lymph node metastasis, etc.The postoperative pathological tissues were collected to detect the expression of EGFR and VEGFR,and the differences in expression and their correlations with the clinicopathological characteristics of TNBC were analyzed. Results The positive expression rates of EGFR and VEGFR in the TNBC group were higher than those in the non-TNBC group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The expression of EGFR in TNBC patients was related to lymph node metastasis, while the expression of VEGFR was related to clinical stage, histological grade, and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05). Spearman correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between the expression of EGFR and VEGFR in TNBC patients(r=0.306, P<0.05).Conclusion High expression of EGFR and VEGFR are existed in TNBC patients, and there is a correlation between their expression and pathological characteristics, which has certain significance on evaluating the condition and prognosis of TNBC.
