Clinical effect of immunoglobulin in the treatment of sepsis in children and influence on immune function |

Abstract Objective To investigate the clinical effect of immunoglobulin in the treatment of children with sepsis and its effect on immune function. Methods A total of 40 children with sepsis treated in the Department of Pediatrics of Zhaoqing First People′s Hospital from May 2019 to April 2020 were selected as the research objects, and divided into control group (20 cases) and intervention group (20 cases) according to random drawing method. The control group received conventional symptomatic treatment, and the intervention group received additional immunoglobulin treatment on the basis of the control group. The therapeutic effect and the levels of immunoglobulin (IgG, IgA, IgM) and complement(C3, C4) before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the intervention group was 90.00%, which was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the levels of IgG, IgA and IgM between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05). After treatment, IgG levels in the intervention group were higher than before treatment and higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in IgA and IgM levels between the two groups after treatment (P>0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in C3 and C4 levels between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of C3 and C4 in the two groups were lower than before treatment, and the levels of C3 and C4 in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Immunoglobulin in the treatment of sepsis in children has significant clinical effect, can effectively improve the immune function and clinical symptoms of children,promote the recovery, it is worthy of popularization and application.
