A qualitative research on the experience of role transition of novice nurses in the context of standardized training |

Abstract Objective To deeply understand the true feelings of novice nurses′role transformation under the background of standardized training,find out the blind spots in the training work,and provide the basis for formulating a more reasonable standardized training system.Methods By using purposive sampling method,twenty-seven novice nurses from two affiliated hospitals of Southern Medical University were recruited and semi-structured interviews were conducted from July to November 2019.The materials were analyzed by Colaizzi seven-step method.Results Four themes were extracted:The dilemma of the professional role in practice is diverse,the expectation of the professional role is inconsistent with the fact,the stable professional thought has not been formed,and actively adapt to professional role performance.Conclusion During the standardized training period,nursing managers should pay more attention to the characteristics of the role transition of novice nurses,take targeted measures to achieve the balance development of professional competence and cognition,promote the orderly completion of the role transition of novice nurses,and maintain the stability of the nursing team.
