Characteristics of magnetic resonance proton spectroscopy in non-demented patients with vascular cognitive impairment |

Abstract Objective To explore the characteristics of magnetic resonance proton spectroscopy (1H-MRS) in non-demented patients with vascular cognitive impairment.Methods A total of 100 stroke patients admitted in our hospital from July 2015 to July 2017 were selected as research objects, they were divided into poststroke cognitive impairment no dementia (PS-CIND) group and post-stroke cognitive function group (NC) according to the presence of cognitive impairment after stroke, 50 cases in each group.The cognitive function scores of the two groups were compared;1H-MRS was performed in the two groups, and the hippocampal N-acetylaspartate/creatine (NAA/Cr) and choline complex (Cho)/Cr values were compared.Results The scores of prospective memory (EBPM), stroop color word test (SCWT),digital connection test (TMT), symbol coding test (DSCT), and digital span test (DST) in the PS-CIND group were higher than those in the NC group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The simple mental state scale(MMSE) score and NAA/Cr values of the PS-CIND group were lower than those of the NC group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in Cho/Cr values between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion NAA/Cr is significantly reduced in patients with non-dementia-type cognitive impairment after stroke,which can be used as a basis for early diagnosis of PS-CIND.
