Effect of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization on peripheral circulation tumor cells and vascular endothelial growth factor in primary liver cancer |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization on peripheral circulating tumor cells and vascular endothelial growth factor in primary liver cancer.Methods A total of 200 patients with primary liver cancer admitted to our hospital from May 2016 to September 2018 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into observation group and control group,100 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,while the observation group was treated with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization.The positive rate of peripheral circulating tumor cells,the number of peripheral circulating tumor cells and the level of vascular endothelial growth factor were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the positive rate of peripheral circulation tumor cells between the two groups (P>0.05).After treatment,the positive rate of peripheral circulation tumor cells in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was significant(P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant difference in the number of peripheral circulation tumor cells and the level of vascular endothelial growth factor between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the number of peripheral circulation tumor cells and the level of vascular endothelial growth factor in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization is of high clinical value in the treatment of primary liver cancer,which can reduce the number of peripheral circulation tumor cells and the level of vascular endothelial growth factor.
